WCRMC Has A New CEO

For Immediate Release: 12/1/2023

Pam Stewart named CEO of WCRMC

“I am excited to announce Pam Stewart as the new Chief Executive Officer of Washington County Regional Medical Center,” said Kerry Trapnell, Chief Administrative Officer of Aletheia Health Partners, management company for the hospital.  “Pam brings a wealth of knowledge to this role and her passion and commitment to the hospital’s success for her hometown community is unmatched!”

Pam graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Brenau Women’s College in 1990 and later obtained her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Auburn University in 2006. Pam began her nursing career in Augusta, but it was only a matter of time before she returned “home” to Sandersville as a Registered Nurse in 1992.

During her initial twenty-year tenure at WCRMC, Pam held numerous positions within the hospital, including Director of Nursing/Chief Nursing Officer. In 2012, she left WCRMC to pursue an opportunity with The Joint Commission, an accrediting organization for Hospitals, but later returned in 2023 to serve as the interim Chief Nursing Officer.

When you speak with Pam about the importance of quality healthcare in rural communities, it is quite evident she is passionate about, and devoted to, our hospital. While she has been associated with WCRMC for more than twenty years, Pam’s affiliation with WCRMC began long before her nursing career. Pam’s mother, Connie Leverett, served as the Food Service Manager and Dietitian at WCRMC, and her father, Willie, was actively involved with fire and rescue.

Between her countless hours spent in the kitchen while her mother worked, her presence on the scene of numerous accidents with her father, and her volunteer work as a Candy Striper in junior high, Pam quite literally “grew up” in this hospital. With her parents’ encouragement and support, Pam elected to pursue a career in nursing, and she is eternally grateful for their guidance.

Pam and her husband, Trey, have resided in Sandersville since 1993, where they raised their daughters, Anna Katherine and Sarah. Continuing the family tradition, Pam is excited to have her daughter, Anna Katherine, working at WCRMC as a Speech-Language Pathologist, making Anna Katherine a third generation WCRMC employee.
