The Nurse Manager has responsibility, authority and accountability for development, implementation and maintenance of nursing standards on a given nursing unit. The Nurse Manager is an experienced registered nurse who provides first line management and is responsible for the budget and personnel management of the unit. The Nurse Manager develops the unit scheduling and improving organizational performance plan. The Nurse Manager functions collaboratively with multiple disciplines involved in patient care. He/She mentors and develops staff in the provision of quality care to a specific population of patients.
