Cardiac Rehabilitation

 

The Cardiac Rehabilitation team at Washington County Regional Medical Center offers a program that can greatly improve the quality of your life. If you have heart disease or are at risk for heart disease, your physician may suggest this program. The program helps patients recovering from cardiac surgery, heart attack, or any cardiac event. It will help reduce the risk of further problems, assist you to live healthier, more active lives through monitored exercise, nutrition, stress management, and diabetes education.

The Cardiac Rehabilitation staff, with help from your physician, develops an education and exercise program customized to meet your needs. Throughout the program, the staff communicates your progress to your physician. During the one hour sessions, a member of the Cardiac Rehab. staff monitores your heart rate and blood pressure while guiding you through an exercise routine. The staff also will provide support and information to assist you to live a healthy lifestyle.
